Antique 1900s Edwardian Plaid Silk Taffeta Ribbon Sash Belt Ruched Front XS
An antique Edwardian era wide tapered red plaid silk taffeta ribbon cummerbund sash belt with a ruched gathered center front and back. A very small size. 23" waist. As is.
The sash is wider in the front and tapers in the back.
The center front has shirred piece that has a stay underneath.
The back has the same ruched fabric.
The sides are gathered.
It needs to pinned to close it. No original fastenings
In good condition and wearable with extreme care.
The silk has split on both sides evenly in the middle and along the top edge there are small areas of wear. See the photo.
Still a lovely example of an Edwardian era belt.
It could also be used as a pattern for costuming.
