A beautiful antique 1900s small mother of pearl hand painted shell change purse with a chain to use as a necklace.
These lovely pieces were normally souvenir items.

It is a creamy lustrous iridescent genuine mother of pearl with hand painted flowers and leaves.
The frame is sliver tone and it has a tiny kiss lock closure.

Inside is an small expandable sectioned wallet which is made up of vivid red paper.
What is unusual about this miniature coin purse is the long necklace chain which is 14 1/2" long.

It is 2" wide and 1 1/2" high.

This antique Victorian or Edwardian coin case is in very good condition.
Very very slight discoloration to the snap closure.
One side of abalone, where it attaches to the frame is slightly loose. See the photo.
The chain and its attachment is very good.

Useable with great care since it is over 100 years old.

Some of these are described as doll purses and it can be used as such.

It also makes a charming display piece.
