Vintage 1940s Tilt Hat Dramatic Cream Straw and Ribbon Tall and Over The Top with Back Band Hollywood
Incredible 1940s vintage tilt hat in cream straw with a high over the top crown design and dark blue ribbon accents. One of those fabulous vintage hats of the early 1940s that is sure to grab ones attention.
This vintage 40s high fashion hat is meant to sit down on the forehead and tilted to the side.
This little tilt doll size hat reminds me of a volcano with its tall narrow pointy crown. The top of the crown is indented and it has a bow. It is pulled over to the side and accented with dark blue grosgrain ribbon bows.
It tapers down to a narrow flat brim.
Bands of woven straw are sewn together to make this hat.
It also has matching back band that holds it on to your head.
It is unlined with narrow hatband. The tag says 23" but the rest is worn away.
In very good condition with only the back elastic strap loosing its stretch. It can be tightened to wear it. I will leave that up to its next owner. It is not smashed on the top as it is meant to be pulled to the side.
My head form is very small and it will be better on a normal head size.
The forties are one of my all time favorite fashion time frame and it is very hard to part with this dramatic hat.
