Antique 1918 Era Bed Boudoir Cap Snood Ecru Lace with Pink Silk Ribbon and Roses Hair Snood
A charming example of an early 1900s 1918 era antique lace boudoir bed cap or vintage hair snood in ecru lace with wired wings on the side.
It is dark ecru color floral lace with pink silk ribbons and tiny antique ivory roses.
The sides of the cap are wired into wings and stand out from the lace cap.
The back snood part that goes under ones hair has been gathered to create the pouch.
Pretty pink silk ribbon bows are attached to the bottom of the wings and a small piece of pink silk ribbon lays across the top between the flowers.
I have a feeling this boudoir cap was hand sewn in the era and made from one of the lace lingerie style blouses.
Since this is an antique boudoir cap it is not perfect. It is missing one flower and the top ribbon has started to shred. The other ribbons are fragile also.
Overall the lace and cap is still sturdy.
Replacing the ribbons and flowers are an easy fix if you wish.
Personally I like the charm of the original piece.
Wearable with great care. This antique vintage cap or snood is more suited for display or collector purposes. It can also be used for a collage of antique accessories.
