Fabulous 1940s cream fabric clutch handbag with floral embroidery and a carved wood frame.
Made in Manila Philippines and a souvenir from the war.
This great authentic 40s vintage clutch bag is a silky fabric that has been embroidered with yellow and green flowers and the words Manila P I.
The frame is dark rust colored wood that has been craved and it snaps open and closed in a hinge.
The cream off white fabric is pleated and gathered and it was hand stitched to the wood frame. It is very roomy and long.
The inside is barlap type of lining. Maybe coconut?
This vintage pocketbook was never used as it was probably a treasured souvenir.
16" wide at the bottom and 8" high. Lots of stuff can be put in the purse as it it material and has give to it.
In unused condition with some very light yellow storage marks. Mostly pin point dots on the rayon like fabric.
At the one fold on the front there is a larger mark when the pleat is spread out. Otherwise this is not seen.
Being Sold As Is and priced accordingly.
The hinges work fine.
Great for a 40s reenactments or if you just love 40s unusual one of a kind bags.
